Manassas, VA | May 31, 2020 – Jeff Dove, candidate for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, made the following statement regarding the racially motivated protests going on around the country “We are a great nation that was saddened by what we saw related to George Floyd and how he was treated by law enforcement. That said some seek to further divide us by putting us into racial boxes. We are all Americans first and should treat others with respect while peacefully protesting injustice”
Dove stated “Right now violent actors from other states are escalating tensions between law enforcement and the citizens of each community facing issues. We must not allow these violent actors to damage our communities and hurt our already hurting small businesses”
Last night protesters got violent in Manassas, Virginia where the Dove family resides. One Democrat elected official decided to antagonize law enforcement for enforcing the laws he helps to craft thus escalating tensions. The current Congressional Representative Jennifer Wexton has once again remained silent when a tough issue arises. Dove stated “This violence is now happening in our district. The silence from Rep. Wexton shows she is not a leader but a follower. The fact that she has not come out to make a statement against the violence shows her lack of concern for the well-being of the people in Virginia 10. Virginians can and will do better.” Dove said.
Dove is an Iraq War Army combat veteran and a businessman who is running to replace Wexton in Northern Virginia’s 10th District.
